Job Description

We are looking for a sincere and caring veterinarian (with or without experience - retired vets with keen interest in street animal care may also apply) who enjoys caring for animals - who is willing to travel to our farm - pick up and drop by car can be provided - and work in our clinic set up exclusively for the care of our 50 adult dogs and 9 puppies. Monday to Saturday (or Monday to Friday) Ideally 3-4 hours daily in the morning (9 AM to 1 PM) (can be full-time 9 AM to 5 PM too if that is preferred) Job Requirements: •⁠ ⁠inspect all dogs visually in their kennels •⁠ ⁠note any concerns based on observation (medical, feed, water, housekeeping, kennel hygiene •⁠ ⁠review existing under treatment dogs •⁠ ⁠administer medication / dressing as applicable or verify medication given outside visit hours •⁠ ⁠follow deworming and vaccination schedule •⁠ ⁠⁠fix spaying/neutering/treatment dates at our vet hospital •⁠ ⁠submit daily report in specified format •⁠ ⁠maintain upto date records on all animals (vetbuddy system) with print copies in each dog's file for ready reference •⁠ ⁠recommend changes improvements: discuss with our vet hospital and get approval and implement. We live on a farm in Devanagondhi Panchayat (about 17 km from Whitefield, Bengaluru) and over the last 20 years, 90+ Indie dogs have made us their home. As it is an hour's drive to our vet hospital, we are now thinking of putting up a clinic in the farm with a visiting or full time vet for basic checking, wound dressing, treatment, blood draws, etc. so we don't have to put the dogs through unnecessary stress just for blood tests, etc. The farm is our home with 50 dogs and 9 puppies as our family - it is not a commercial venture nor is it an NGO. We do not do rescues and we are not activists... some of the dogs come to us on their own in distress and once they are well enough, they go back into the village, and other dogs/pups choose to stay on. We try to provide a good quality life for the dogs who choose to live with us. We use our own funds to take care of our kiddos and we just want to make it easier for them and for us to have first aid and basic medical care available on the farm. We are also in our mid 50s now and feel we need more specialised help to care for the doggies as well as the occasional injured bird.
